You’ll be able to follow my trip across the world using this blog, but my question to you is: What are some of your favorite destinations or recommendations for places you’ve been, meals you’ve eaten, people you’ve met, or sights you’ve seen?  Feel free to make any suggestions or tell any stories using the “Comments” section below.  I appreciate the feedback!

  1. I hear Scotland has good scotch!

    • Interesting. I think I’ll have to personally investigate and get back to you whether I can confirm or deny said rumor, though I have a good feeling about it!

      • It’s true… they do good scotch 🙂 I went to a darling little distillery with my family about 5 years ago somewhere in Scotland. It’s called Edradour and I remember finding it interesting despite being around 15 at the time and harbouring no great passion for whiskey, so that bodes well I think 😛

  2. I totally enjoyed reading this blog. I can’t wait to follow you along on your adventures, whle I remain in my “bubble”. LOL

  3. This is amazing! I will be following along and watching to see how long your hair gets. As far as places to see Lucern Switzerland is beautiful!

  4. You don’t know me … your Dad told me about your blog when we talked at HealthPoint this morning. I love to travel. Here are some of my favorite, out-of-the-way places to visit: the Fiji Islands, Wallis & Futuna Islands in the South Pacific, Samoa, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Kenya (Nairobi, Kisumu, Vigetse, Masai Mara Game Preserve). And more mainstream places: Gothenburg, Sweden; Leipzig, Germany; Marstrand Island, Sweden; any place in the Caribbean. (I can recommend food, wine, and beer in all of them.) In December, I’ll be spending a week in Cuba and can let you know how that goes. In the meantime, I’m going to live vicariously through you.

    • Denise, thanks for the recommendations. I’m definitely planning on hitting Fiji and the South Pacific, so I’ll certainly hit you up for some beer, wine, and food spots. And enjoy Cuba! (I hope to visit there one day myself)

  5. If you go in Budapest, eat at Lancelot. I hope the food is still as good as it was in 2000! 🙂

  6. Am enjoying reading about your travel adventures … I’m partial to Grand Bahama Island (FPO) and hope it may end up on your itinerary one day … happy trails (and congrats on being Freshly Pressed!).

  7. Andrew, I just wanted to let you know I e-mailed the Travel Channel about your blog. They e-mailed back and thanked me and said they would make sure it got to the right department! This is truely an amazing adventure you are on!

  8. To me Venice is the most magical city on Earth. Well, ok… amongst the cities I have visited myself. And yes, Scotland has some pretty amazing scotch! I’d strongly recommend Talisker from the island of Skye.

  9. Cabo Polonio, Uruguay.. I havent read enough of your blog to see if this is a place you have been to. But this is my suggestion.

  10. I’d recommend southern Africa, Namibia in particular. But I have no idea how to do it on a budget… I just grew up there and despite lots more travel remain convinced that it is one of the world’s most beautiful countries. But if you do end up in the region Cape Town is amazing (Boulders penguin colony is particularly fun and brings back memories of that time when my uncle was telling all us kids not to annoy the penguins or they’d bite us and managed to get himself bitten while demonstrating what not to do – by bitten I mean nipped, he was fine, just amusingly embarrassed), and Victoria Falls are lovely, and Chobe in Botswana is is wonderful too.

  11. When’s the Philippines on your list? 😉

  12. you havent visited Poland yet ?? whyyy?? you should try local sheep cheese from small cottages in Tatra mountains !! wahh !
